Got a notification from WestBow Press today that SAVING BEACH MANSION IS PUBLISHED!!!!
It seems I failed to send one of the signature approvals several months ago, so they were on hold waiting for me! I finally emailed and said, “Hey, it’s FEBRUARY and I haven’t heard from you since summer!!! What did I not do?!” (I didn’t say exactly that, but you get the picture.) The next day, I got the signature contract w/notice that I hadn’t sent it back. I searched thru all my emails, and never received it! Oh, well! Done now!

Final Flight is awaiting my last last last “editor.” Special thanks to my high school bestie, Cam Leonard, a published author in his own right (Humble in Heart, Fallen Sparrows, and Stellar Witness: all very good, and not just because I love him!) for doing one final edit and making some very important observations and suggestions! THANK YOU!!!
Hope to send it off by end of next week.
HEALTH:
Not much new. Nobody (neurologist, neurosurgeon, oncologist (No, it’s not cancer! Just fibrous tissue, thus the lack of help from oncologist), pain management doctor, ….) has a solution to the LUMP in my butt that pushes on damaged nerves and causes nerve pain attacks multiple times/hour! No pain meds help; steroid shot made them MUCH WORSE for 2 days and spiked my blood sugar to 400 for 3 days!!!! Ain’t doin’ that again!! Stemwave is the new treatments: ultrasonic pulses that stimulate nerves to heal, supposedly. Had two so far (recommendation is 5 – 10 sessions, and yes, Medicare covers it!) w/little noticeable change. At least they didn’t trigger attacks during the procedure as I’d feared! Small wins matter!
Sitting HURTS, so I spend most of my days in my recliner. I HATE BEING HANDICAPPED!!!! Trying to do PT daily, but 1) it HURTS and 2) it’s pretty pointless! Can’t even stand any more! Nerve damage and vertigo slowly robbing me of not only mobility, but vision and steadiness (tremors!).
I’ve fallen three times in 3 days this week!!! Called the cute firemen cuz Larry can’t lift me (neck surgery last year: still not supposed to lift heavy stuff, and I’m about 145 lbs). Third time was getting into shower y’day! Vertigo spins world out from under me and all of a sudden, I’m face down, arm thru hole in shower chair, knees on lip of shower (Lowe’s cut-out we did a few years ago), SCREAMING “HELP ME!!!” for 20 minutes. (Guess it’s shock, cuz I can’t stop screaming, and I’m NOT a screamer!) No injury, but HURT to be in that position. Larry lifted me enough to get my torso onto chair to take pressure off knees. THANK YOU!!! Kudos to Burleson Fire Department for coming to my rescue and their KINDNESS and PROFESSIONALISM!! (poor guys: fat naked old lady half in and half out of tub!!) Getting into shower no longer safe! Will settle for sponge baths and hair washed. Installing a roll-in shower isn’t feasible (SMALL bathroom & I love the tile design I created and we installed years ago! Sailboats, lighthouses, seashells), and I doubt I’ll be here long enough for it to pay for itself!
BIRTHDAY DINNER & family update:
Enjoyed Hibachi with family (Larry, Joy, Betsy, Jonathan, Rosa and Zoey (whose birthday it was!). Great food. Excellent entertaining chef! Family time!!! Eating out is very taxing! Wears me out! But so worth it to spend time w/family!
Gotta brag on our Army Girl (who will be mad that I included this!) She’s at Warrant Officer Candidate School now; graduates in a few weeks. Going to Alabama to honor her GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT!!! SO PROUD OF HER DILIGENCE, TENACITY AND LEADERSHIP!
Directive:
Don’t cry for me, Argentina! Remember that song from the Carpenters? Well that’s my directive! When you hear I’ve finally gone HOME, don’t cry! Rejoice that I’m dancing with Jesus, can HEAR the angel choir, and am no longer in PAIN and am enjoying my GLORIFIED BODY!! Wish that were today, but probly won’t be for awhile, since there’s nothing really “wrong” with me: just lots of stupid little things that greatly hinder “normal life.” Even God isn’t ready for me yet!! And NO, I will never help the process along! I’ve known several whose family members have committed suicide, and the DEVASTATION is HORRIFIC! I would NEVER do that to my family! Besides, I still have several books to publish and a sweet granddaughter to enjoy!
Enough rambling: off to finish taxes. I think we may be getting quite a bit back this year! Adios!
